Marie became a member of WBN in 2009. In 2010 one of the ‘leading ladies’ stepped down, so Marie volunteered to take over sending out the email newsletter. Before taking over this responsibility Marie had no previous experience with sending out email newsletters or with using Constant Contact. Susan, the founder of WBN gave Marie the freedom to redesign the newsletter, with the only feedback being that they wanted “a table of items included in the newsletter with links, as well as a section of helpful links, our linked-in page, our FB page, and other helpful links.“ Marie chose to use a standard newsletter 2 column format for a cleaner, more professional look. Created a new newsletter header based on the header artwork that is on the current website, and sampled colors from the WBN logo. The email newsletter is now biweekly, and includes events from the members, as well as other local networking and educational organizations along with links to their websites.
