Project Smile

We met Catherine the founder of Project Smile at a networking event. Since our initial meeting our paths have crossed numerous times. When she needed to put together the program for the Fourth Annual Charity Date Auction she contacted us to help. The look of this ‘book’ was influenced by the event artwork/graphic. And, to keep the cost for printing down the book was reproduced in black and white, and all artwork was kept within 1/4 inch of the page edges to avoid the additional cost of printing with bleeds.

The following month Catherine came to us again and asked if we could help out with The 7th Anniversary Celebration program. She had already been using the ‘teddy bear’ photo so we picked up the artwork, used the same fonts as the auction program, for consistency. And, again, to keep costs down, designed the entire program in black and white without bleeds. But, we could not resist trying to use the vibrant red color that was in the background of the ‘teddy bear’ photo, so we opted for a shade of gray for the background to give the program a higher end look without the additional cost of printing full-color.

Catherine came to us in 2011 to help out again with both programs.
